Clear the cache
Updated Sep 10, 20262 min read
Hype Bundles caches the data it sends to your storefront and clears that cache automatically every 10 minutes. If a change you made in the admin has not reached your store yet, you can clear it immediately: go to Settings in Hype Bundles, find the Cache section, and click Clear Cache.
Clear it now
- Open Settings in Hype Bundles.
- Scroll to Cache. The section is described as "Cleared automatically every 10 minutes".
- Click Clear Cache.
- Reload your storefront with a hard refresh — Cmd+Shift+R on macOS, Ctrl+F5 on Windows.
That is the whole operation. It is safe to run at any time, as often as you like: it discards stored copies of your own store's data, nothing else. It does not touch your campaigns, offers, settings or theme.
What this cache holds
Your storefront asks Hype Bundles for the offers that apply, through Shopify's app proxy at /apps/hype-bundles. Answering that question from scratch on every page view of every shopper would be slow, so the answer is stored for a short time and reused.
The consequence is the one you are here for: for up to 10 minutes after you change something in the admin, some shoppers may still be served the previous answer.
When to use it
Clear the cache when you have just:
- Activated, deactivated or edited a campaign or offer and want to check it immediately.
- Changed which products, collections or markets an offer targets.
- Changed the text, colors or configuration of a storefront block.
- Fixed something support asked you to fix and want to verify the fix now.
You do not need to clear it routinely. It clears itself.
If clearing it does not help
The 10-minute cache is only one of several layers between your admin and a shopper's screen. If the change still is not visible after clearing and hard-refreshing:
- Shopify's CDN caches your storefront pages independently of Hype. Hype cannot clear that; give it a few minutes and refresh again.
- Your browser may be holding the old page. Try an incognito window.
- The change may not be live at all. A draft campaign, a disabled app embed, or a block placed on the wrong template will never appear no matter how many times you clear the cache. Work through Nothing shows on my storefront before assuming it is a caching problem.
That last point is worth taking seriously: clearing the cache repeatedly is the most common way merchants spend twenty minutes on a problem that was a draft campaign all along.
