Cancelling and refunds
Updated Sep 10, 20263 min read
Cancel from the Plan page in Hype Bundles, any time. Access continues to the end of the 30-day cycle you have already started, and nothing more is charged after that.
Cancel the subscription
- Open Plan in Hype Bundles.
- On the card showing your current tier, click Cancel subscription.
- A confirmation asks Cancel current billing? — "This cancels the current billing subscription for your store."
- Click Cancel billing to go ahead, or Keep billing active to back out.
You can also cancel from the Shopify side, under Settings → Apps and sales channels in your Shopify admin. Hype picks that up automatically and updates the Plan page.
What happens next
- The subscription is marked cancelled and no further charges are made.
- Access to Hype Bundles continues to the end of the cycle you are in. You keep everything you have set up until then.
- Any charge already posted for the current cycle stands — see below.
- Your campaigns, offers, carts and settings are not deleted. Cancelling is not uninstalling.
What is not refunded
The plan terms Shopify shows you when you approve say it plainly: a cycle is billed at the highest tier its order count reached, and it is never lowered or refunded within that cycle.
So:
- A charge posted earlier in the current cycle is not refunded when you cancel mid-cycle. You keep access for the rest of that cycle instead.
- Cancelling orders, refunding customers or switching your offers off part-way through a cycle does not reduce that cycle's tier.
- Once a new cycle starts, nothing further is charged.
If you believe a charge is wrong — a duplicate, a tier you never reached, a charge after a cancellation — open a support conversation with the date and amount from Billing history. See Getting help.
Cancel rather than uninstall
If you are pausing for a quiet season, cancel the subscription and leave the app installed. Uninstalling deletes your configuration from Hype, and reinstalling does not bring it back. Cancelling costs you nothing and keeps the work you have done. See Uninstalling Hype.
You may not even need to cancel. If your store drops below 101 paid orders in a cycle, that cycle is free automatically — no cancellation, no downgrade request. See Busy months and tier changes.
If you want to stop offers running without cancelling
Deactivate the individual campaign, offer, upsell or cart in the app. Anything left as a draft does not run. If Hype Bundles has a theme app embed, turning that off stops everything it renders on your storefront at once.
Neither affects billing: billing follows your store's paid orders, not whether an offer is running.
Cancelling a Hype Suite subscription
Cancel it from the Plan page of the app that holds it — the other apps show Included in Hype Suite with a link to that app. Cancelling ends access to all four at the end of the cycle. See The Hype Suite subscription.
Frozen subscriptions
If Shopify cannot collect payment, it freezes the subscription and the Plan page says so: "Shopify has paused this subscription because a payment failed. Settle the invoice in Shopify to resume." Nothing is posted while it is frozen. Pay the outstanding Shopify invoice and it resumes — Hype cannot unfreeze it from this side.
