Hype Bundles

Which offer type should I use?

Updated Sep 10, 20263 min read

Hype Bundles ships four offer types. Three of them are bundles — several products sold as one priced unit, merged into a single cart line. The fourth, Volume discount, is not a bundle: it prices one product by quantity and leaves the cart alone.

The decision table

Fixed bundle

You choose two or more products and a quantity for each. The shopper takes the set as-is, choosing only variants.

Two styles: Showcase (product images side by side with one combined price) and Lineup / Routine (a vertical list, one row per product).

Mix & match

You define categories — each with a name, a pool of products, and a minimum and maximum number of picks. The shopper fills the slots.

One style: Quick pick, a pick-N widget on the product page.

Mix & match

Frequently bought together

You choose which product pages the offer shows on, and which extras to suggest there. The discount is applied to whatever the shopper actually adds.

Two styles: Bought together (pre-ticked companions next to the main product with one combined total) and Add-ons (unticked extras below add to cart, with only the extras discounted).

Volume discount

Quantity breaks on the products you choose: buy 2, save 10%, buy 3, save 15%. Nothing merges and no bundle product is created — the shopper's own lines are discounted at checkout.

Two styles: Tiles (quantity options side by side) and Stacked list (rows with prices and savings notes).

Things that differ between the types

Where they can appear. Fixed bundle, Mix & match and Frequently bought together each have a Show on setting: specific products, specific collections, or all products. Volume discounts use the same control, labelled Applies to, and it does double duty — it decides both which products get the quantity breaks and which product pages show the block.

Automatic discount slots. Shopify allows 25 active automatic discounts per store. All of your bundles share a single one, called Hype Bundle Discount (Do not delete), so bundles cost you one slot no matter how many you run. Each volume discount creates its own, so ten volume offers cost ten slots. See The 25 automatic discounts limit.

Discount codes. A volume discount can be delivered as a Discount code instead of automatically, with a shareable link. Bundles are always automatic.

Stacking with other discounts. Volume discounts have a Combinations section for combining with other product, order and shipping discounts. Bundles do not expose one.

Still deciding?

Every card on the Create an offer page renders the real storefront block on demo data. Click into a preview, change the Theme and accent in the corner, and see what the shopper would see before you commit. You can also create the offer, leave it as a draft, and never activate it — nothing reaches your storefront until you do.

Coming soon

Bundle builder — a guided, full-page builder where customers assemble their own bundle — exists in the product but is not offered on the create page yet.
