Drafts, activating and scheduling offers
Updated Sep 10, 20263 min read
Every offer is either Draft or Active. A draft exists only in Hype and touches nothing on your store; an active offer is live on the storefront and has a real Shopify discount behind it. Hype Bundles has no start and end dates — you turn an offer on and off yourself.
The two statuses
| Status | On your storefront | In Shopify |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Nothing renders | No discount, no bundle product |
| Active | The block renders on matching pages | The discount applies at checkout |
The badge is shown on the home list and on the offer type card at the top of the wizard.
Activating from the wizard
New offers are always saved as drafts first. When you click Finish on the Blocks step, Hype asks:
Activate this campaign? It is saved as a draft. Activate it now to make it live on your storefront, or keep it as a draft and activate it later from the list.
- Activate now — publishes the offer and returns you to the list.
- Keep as draft — leaves it off and returns you to the list.
Activating a bundle does several things at once: it creates the hidden wrapper product the merged cart line uses, installs or updates your store's cart transform, adds the bundle to the shared automatic discount, and flips the status. Activating a volume discount creates its own Shopify discount.
Activating from the list
- Open the home page.
- Find the offer's row and open its Actions menu.
- Click Enable.
The same menu has Disable and Delete.
Turning an offer off
Disable removes the offer from the storefront and sets it back to Draft. Its configuration is kept, so enabling it again restores it. For a bundle, disabling removes only that bundle's entry from the shared cart transform and discount — other bundles keep working.
Delete is permanent. For a bundle, the confirmation reads: This will permanently delete "[name]" and remove it from your storefront. This can't be undone. Deleting also archives the bundle's hidden wrapper product. For a volume offer: This removes "[name]" and its automatic discount. This can't be undone.
Use Disable for a promotion you may run again; Delete only for something you are sure you are finished with.
Editing a live offer
Open it, change what you need and click Save. An offer that is already active is re-published in place — you do not need to disable it first, and shoppers see the change once the storefront cache refreshes (up to 10 minutes; Settings → Cache → Clear Cache makes it immediate).
Editing a bundle's name renames its hidden wrapper product. Editing its pricing updates its entry in the shared discount.
If a save fails, the offer stays as it was — a failed activation does not leave you half-published. The most common failure is Shopify's discount ceiling; see The 25 automatic discounts limit.
Scheduling
Hype Bundles has no schedule field. There is nowhere in the wizard to set a start date or an end date, and an activated offer runs until you disable or delete it.
To run a timed promotion:
- Build the offer ahead of time and leave it as a Draft. Drafts are invisible to shoppers, so there is no risk in preparing early.
- When the promotion starts, use Actions → Enable on the row.
- When it ends, use Actions → Disable.
If you need date-based scheduling for something else on your store, Shopify's own automatic discounts have active dates — but a discount created there will not merge bundle lines or drive a Hype block.
