Hype Bundles

Session expired, or the app will not open

Updated Sep 10, 20263 min read

Open Hype Bundles once from your Shopify admin. That single action repairs almost every "session expired", "please reinstall" or blank-screen problem, because opening the app makes Shopify hand it a fresh set of credentials. Do not uninstall and reinstall until you have tried it.

Do this first

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Apps.
  2. Click Hype Bundles.
  3. Wait for it to load fully.

That is it. If something in the background had stopped working — a scheduled job, an offer failing to sync — it starts working again within a few minutes of that visit.

Why this works

Hype holds a credential from Shopify that lets it act on your store when you are not looking at the admin — to sync your offers, count orders for billing, and keep discounts up to date. Shopify now issues those credentials with an expiry and requires apps to refresh them regularly.

When the refresh cannot happen — the credential was revoked, or it went stale while the app was untouched for a long time — the app cannot act on your store until it gets a new one. Opening the app in your admin is what mints the new one. There is no button, no setting and nothing to enter; loading the page does it.

If opening the app is not enough

Work through these in order.

The app opens but a screen is blank or spins forever. Hard-refresh the admin page (Cmd+Shift+R / Ctrl+F5). Then try a different browser or an incognito window — an ad blocker or a privacy extension can block the admin's embedded frames. If it works in incognito, an extension is the cause.

Shopify shows a permissions or re-consent screen. Read it and approve. Hype asks you to re-consent when its permission list changes; the app cannot function until you do. It is not a sign that anything is broken.

You are asked to log in again, repeatedly. This is usually third-party cookie blocking in the browser, not Hype. The Shopify admin embeds apps in a frame and needs cookies to work there. Allow cookies for admin.shopify.com and myshopify.com, or use a different browser.

The app is not in the Apps list at all. It has been uninstalled from the store. Reinstall it from the App Store listing. Note that uninstalling removes your Hype configuration — see Uninstalling Hype.

Background things are still not working an hour later. Open a support conversation with your store URL and roughly when it stopped. Support can check whether your store's credential is healthy from their side. See Getting help.

When a reinstall is actually the answer

Almost never — and it is expensive, because uninstalling deletes your campaigns, offers and configuration from Hype, and reinstalling does not bring them back. Reinstall only when:

  • The app is genuinely no longer installed on the store, or
  • Support has looked at your store and asked you to.

If you are reinstalling to fix a billing problem, stop: cancelling and re-subscribing from the Plan page does everything a reinstall would, without losing your work. See Cancelling and refunds.
